The Chicago Music Commission and the Cultural Policy Center at the University of Chicago released, in mid-August, 2007, a report, "Chicago: A Music City." The report presents a detailed economic analysis of Chicago's music scene, compared with other American cities. It concludes that Chicago has huge music assets but that they are underappreciated and underpromoted.
